Bulletproof Broth

Eating healthy food can sometimes leave you a bit confused. Most of you have really made a concerted effort to eat healthy food yet still find yourselves falling short, which can lead to a lot of frustration. We talk about this a lot and find more often then not, it really has nothing to do with the food, as much as it has to do with the body the food is going into.

“Healthy” or not, if your body cannot break down a specific food, it is no longer a healthy food. And if your body is in a low metabolic state, chances are high you are eating several foods you cannot metabolize.

As pioneers in using food to restore thyroid and metabolic health, one of the greater things we pride ourselves on is using food as supplementation.

Our Bulletproof broth is a simple example of how we pack a load of nutrients into one small, yummy, and easy to digest meal.

Note: In this video you will hear us mention how this needs to be coupled with a metabolically rich carbohydrate such as a fruit or a root vegetable. Part of restoring your body back to health is learning to use your food to regulate blood sugar to further reduce stress in the system. Most people do not realize too much protein out of balance with carbohydrates is just as capable of creating vicious blood sugar fluctuations, as is too much carbohydrate. It is all about the balance:)

So without further adieu…

Recipe for Bulletproof Broth:

  • 1 cup bone broth
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 cup coconut milk
  • Pinch of salt

There are many variations to this recipe. Some might opt for coconut oil, butter, ghee or heavy cream in place of the coconut milk.

Modify it to meet your personal needs. Sometimes I even like to add a little collagen (gelatin) to increase the protein and caloric values.

So there you have it, super simple, super delicious and super nutritious!

Enjoy!
